According to a statement from the company, physical Nintendo locations in Japan—namely Nintendo TOKYO, Nintendo OSAKA, and Nintendo KYOTO—will temporarily refrain from offering in-store sales of Nintendo Switch 2 consoles and related accessories at launch.
For Japanese customers eager to secure the Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo recommends participating in an online pre-order lottery, accessible exclusively through the My Nintendo Store website.
This method is designed to manage demand and ensure fair distribution during the high-traffic launch period.
As detailed by Nintendo, "Customers wishing to purchase the Nintendo Switch 2 hardware are encouraged to register for the online lottery pre-order via the My Nintendo Store."
Notably, Nintendo’s announcement did not mention restrictions on the physical sale of Nintendo Switch 2 games at these Japanese flagship stores.
