The rollout includes five distinct icons tied to Mario Paint and six tied to Mario Kart: Super Circuit, with each icon priced at 10 Platinum Points through the My Nintendo rewards program.
According to Nintendo’s distribution rules for these items, the icons use a “play-to-unlock” model: beyond holding an active Nintendo Switch Online membership, players must actually launch the corresponding classic game in its Nintendo Classics app to be able to claim the icon.
For Mario Paint, that means opening the Super Nintendo Entertainment System – Nintendo Classics app on Nintendo Switch.
The Mario Kart: Super Circuit icons require launching the Game Boy Advance – Nintendo Classics app; access to the Game Boy Advance library is gated behind the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack tier.
All of these icons are available to claim during August and will remain live on the service until September 7, 2026, after which Nintendo will rotate in new items.
