Nintendo has rolled out a new set of Pikmin-themed profile icons for Nintendo Switch owners as part of Pikmin Day celebrations.
The icons are available through Nintendo Switch Online and are redeemable using My Nintendo Platinum Points.
The Pikmin franchise, created by Shigeru Miyamoto and developed by Nintendo EPD (formerly Nintendo EAD), has been celebrated annually by fans and the publisher alike, with special events and content drops tied to Pikmin Day.
According to Nintendo’s announcement, the new offerings include character icons, background images, and frames inspired by the Pikmin series.
Character icons are priced at 10 My Nintendo Platinum Points each, while backgrounds and frames are available for 5 Platinum Points.
Nintendo also clarified that once a user redeems points for an icon, the item remains in their account permanently — it will not be removed even if the user’s Nintendo Switch Online membership lapses.
Nintendo has scheduled these Pikmin-themed profile items to be released on a weekly cadence.
New icons will be made available every Saturday in North America and every Sunday in Europe.
The company set an end date for the promotion: the Pikmin designs will be removed from My Nintendo and Nintendo Switch Online reward availability on November 28, 2026.
The icon release coincided with a Pikmin Day Direct earlier the same day, where Nintendo provided updates and showcased Pikmin-related announcements for fans and Switch owners.
For players who collect My Nintendo Platinum Points through linked Nintendo Accounts, the icons appear in the reward catalog and can be redeemed directly from the My Nintendo site or through eligible menus on Nintendo Switch systems.
How to redeem: sign in to your Nintendo Account with My Nintendo linked, navigate to the Platinum rewards section, select the desired Pikmin icon, background, or frame, and redeem using the indicated Platinum Points.
Once claimed, the icon will be accessible on the linked Nintendo Switch console(s) in the user profile area.
These Pikmin profile items offer a small but permanent way for fans to personalize their Nintendo Switch accounts and celebrate the long-running Pikmin series on Nintendo’s current hardware and online services.
