Introduction
Nintendo has added fresh avatar icons tied to classic titles for Nintendo Switch Online members.
Starting in October, six new icons for Devil World and seven designs for Densetsu no Starfy are available to claim through My Nintendo.
Each icon costs 10 Platinum Points, and the set will remain redeemable until November 2, 2026.
What’s available
- Devil World: Six unique icon designs are live.
These are available to anyone with a Nintendo Switch Online membership that grants access to the relevant Nintendo Classics app.
- Densetsu no Starfy: Seven different designs are available.
Access to Starfy icons requires membership in the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack tier.
How the 'play to redeem' system works
Nintendo’s current avatar drop uses its 'play to redeem' mechanic.
Players must launch the corresponding title in the Nintendo Classics apps on Nintendo Switch to unlock the associated icon for redemption.
In journalistic terms: Nintendo requires users to boot the specified game within the Nintendo Classics library to make the icon claimable in My Nintendo.
Pricing and where to redeem
Each avatar design costs 10 Platinum Points on My Nintendo.
Users should visit their My Nintendo account to redeem Platinum Points for the icons once the related game has been launched in the Nintendo Classics app.
Platform and membership requirements
Devil World is accessible through the Nintendo Classics app for standard Nintendo Switch Online members.
Densetsu no Starfy is included in the Expansion Pack tier of Nintendo Switch Online, so players must be subscribed to that tier to play the game and unlock its icons.
Availability and rotation
The Devil World and Densetsu no Starfy icons will be available for redemption through November 2, 2026.
After that date, Nintendo will rotate in a new set of playable titles and corresponding icon rewards as part of its ongoing Nintendo Switch Online offerings.
Context and where to follow updates
This drop continues Nintendo’s ongoing practice of tying digital rewards to its Nintendo Classics apps and My Nintendo program.
For players tracking future icon drops, platform additions, or Nintendo Switch Online catalog updates, consult official Nintendo announcements and the My Nintendo site for the latest details.
