According to Trinen, the new installment introduces a 'philosophical' change, with race courses now seamlessly interconnected.

This design shift enhances the racing experience and adds a new layer to the familiar Mario Kart formula, promising both seasoned fans and newcomers a fresh way to enjoy the series. On the platforming front, Donkey Kong Bananza brings its own trailblazing changes.

Notably, the game introduces destructible environments, giving players the freedom to smash through obstacles and pathways—an addition that takes advantage of the Switch 2’s technical advancements.
