Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Launch Sparks New Wave of Metroid Merch at Nintendo Stores and Online

Nintendo’s iconic Metroid franchise has historically played a quieter role in the company’s impressive roster, often overshadowed by the likes of Mario and The Legend of Zelda in both sales figures and merchandise reach.

However, with the highly anticipated release of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, the landscape is changing.

Nintendo is celebrating Samus Aran’s newest adventure on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 with a dedicated wave of Metroid merchandise, offering fans a rare opportunity to show their love for the series. Initially, Nintendo unveiled this exclusive Metroid line in Japan, available through the official Nintendo Stores in Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Fukuoka, and at a special Okinawa pop-up location.

The merchandise was also launched on the My Nintendo Store, accessible to Japanese consumers.

Items in the collection span from whimsical to practical, with highlights including a Baby Metroid keychain, a Morph Ball zip-up pouch, a gadget case for accessories, themed drinking glasses, and unique collectibles like a Metroid ice cube tray and an Arm Cannon pillow designed to be wearable. Retail prices for the merchandise vary, starting at 2,420 yen (approximately £12.99) for the Baby Metroid keychain and reaching up to 6,600 yen (around £37.99) for the Arm Cannon pillow.

The collection reflects Nintendo’s renewed focus on expanding the Metroid brand alongside its biggest titles, leveraging the global excitement surrounding Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. In a recent development, the exclusivity barrier has started to lower.

Several products from the collection have become available on the UK My Nintendo Store, much to the delight of Metroid fans outside Japan.

This marks a significant moment, as past Metroid merchandise releases have largely remained regional, with international fans often resorting to high shipping fees or limited import options. To complement the new merchandise lineup, the squishy Metroid amiibo has also been restocked on the UK My Nintendo Store, retailing for £12.99.

This figure, which had been difficult to find for some time, is sure to become a centerpiece in any Metroid collection. Of course, the star of the season remains Metroid Prime 4: Beyond itself.

Available from today on the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond has already received critical acclaim.

In our review, we hailed Samus’ latest mission as “one of the very best Metroid games of all time,” highlighting its tight gameplay, atmospheric environments, and innovative mechanics that respect the legacy while pushing the franchise forward. For those unable to secure the new merchandise or the amiibo, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond represents a fresh chapter and a major milestone in the franchise’s history.

With this dual celebration of game launch and merchandise, Nintendo is clearly investing in both veteran Hunters and newcomers discovering Samus’s galaxy-spanning adventures on modern hardware.
