Description

Nintendo is once again fostering direct engagement between its developer teams and the player community, this time with the anticipated Drag x Drive Global Jam online demo set to roll out soon for Nintendo Switch 2.

As the latest addition to Nintendo’s portfolio of competitive online demos, Drag x Drive invites fans worldwide to test their skills against not just fellow players, but even the minds behind the game’s design. Drag x Drive is a racing-sports hybrid that has been generating buzz thanks to its dynamic gameplay and cutting-edge mechanics tailored for Nintendo’s upcoming hardware, the Nintendo Switch 2.

Developed by Nintendo, the title is slated for worldwide release on August 14, 2025.

Before the official launch, the Global Jam event will give fans an exclusive sneak peek and a unique opportunity—to face off against the very developers who helped bring Drag x Drive to life. According to a recent update on the Nintendo Today app, Nintendo revealed that players will be able to encounter Drag x Drive’s developers during set times of the Global Jam demo.

A notice from the company encouraged fans, stating, "Your experience may not match that of the developers right away.

However, with dedication and practice, we believe you’ll soon be racing and performing high-flying dunks alongside the top players." While Nintendo has not specified which members of the development team will appear during the Global Jam demo sessions, it has been confirmed that participating staff will be recognizable by special in-game helmets—a nod showcased in recent promotional materials.

This identification ensures that players can easily spot and compete against official developers during their matches. The Drag x Drive Global Jam demo is open for two primary play windows: August 9, from 5 PM PT to 9 PM PT (or 8 PM ET to 12 AM ET), and August 10, from 9 AM PT to 1 PM PT (12 PM ET to 4 PM ET).

These sessions offer a unique chance for the Nintendo community to test the new entry, interact with its creators, and provide feedback directly through their gameplay experience. Drag x Drive is set to launch exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2, reinforcing Nintendo’s commitment to hand-crafted, innovative titles that leverage its newest hardware capabilities.

With its focus on online competition and creator engagement, Drag x Drive’s Global Jam looks to establish a vibrant player base ahead of the title’s official release.

Be sure to check out the eShop and stay connected through Nintendo Direct and the Nintendo Today app for more updates as the Drag x Drive launch date approaches.
