Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass Roadmap Revealed — Bubbly Basin Arrives August 2026

Pokémon Pokopia launched in March of this year and quickly established itself as a standout release.

Developed and supported by Nintendo in partnership with The Pokémon Company International, the title has continued to receive post-launch support.

Today’s update summarizes the Expansion Pass content roadmap and the free update details announced via Nintendo’s press materials and a Nintendo Direct broadcast dated 06.09.26.

Expansion Pass overview

Nintendo and The Pokémon Company International have made the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass available for purchase.

The publisher describes the DLC as a single purchase that unlocks three separate content drops delivering new towns, additional Pokémon encounters, and decorative items for player homes.

All Expansion Pass content will be delivered in multiple installments; the company said more specifics will follow as each release approaches.

Roadmap and release windows

- Part 1 — Bubbly Basin: Scheduled for release in August 2026.

- Part 2: Scheduled for late 2026.

- Part 3: Scheduled for 2027.

These dates are presented by Nintendo and The Pokémon Company International as the planned release windows for each portion of the Expansion Pass.

Free update: Dive and underwater towns

Alongside the paid Expansion Pass content, a free update will introduce the move Dive, enabling underwater exploration.

That update will also add the ability for players to build towns beneath the waves and live alongside various Water-type Pokémon.

Nintendo has indicated this free update will launch in August, coinciding with the arrival of Bubbly Basin.

What this means for players

The Expansion Pass model consolidates forthcoming paid content into a single purchase, while the simultaneous free update expands core gameplay through the Dive mechanic and underwater town-building.

The Expansion Pass is currently available for purchase, including via Nintendo’s digital storefront, the eShop, and further release details will be announced by Nintendo in the lead-up to each drop.
