Nintendo has confirmed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will arrive on the Nintendo Switch 2 on Oct. 23, according to a notice included in today’s Nintendo Download email.
The announcement marks the franchise’s return to a Nintendo platform and sets a firm release date for the next mainline Call of Duty entry on Nintendo’s next-generation hardware.
In its announcement, Nintendo described the scope of Modern Warfare 4’s single-player and multiplayer offerings.
The company said the campaign places players in a range of high-stakes engagements — from trench warfare in Korea to high-speed pursuits through Paris and close-quarters combat in New York.
Nintendo characterized multiplayer as focused on grounded, precise combat that emphasizes fluid movement, player choice and enhanced control.
The publisher also highlighted DMZ, describing it as an extraction-focused mode that forces teams to weigh objectives, secured loot and timings on every run.
Nintendo further confirmed that the Switch 2 version will include cross-play and cross-progression, and will support optional mouse controls via Joy-Con 2.
The announcement stated that pre-order information and additional details will be shared later this summer.
