Polymega Collection Vol. 20 TRUXTON and More: Toaplan Vols. 19–22 Available to Pre-order

Polymega expands Toaplan catalogue with Volumes 19–22 — what’s included and where to buy

Polymega has expanded its licensed retro collections with four new releases drawing on the back catalogue of Japanese developer Toaplan.

The announcements cover Polymega Collection Vol. 19 through Vol. 22, with each release packaging multiple arcade and coin-op-era titles for owners of the Polymega modular retro console and collectors of physical retro releases.

Polymega confirmed on its official website that Vol. 20, titled Polymega Collection Vol. 20: TRUXTON, includes four shoot 'em ups: Truxton (1988), Truxton II (1992), Alcon (1986) and Grind Stormer (1993).

The company described the volume as a focused tribute to Toaplan's run of vertical and scrolling shooters.

Polymega Collection Vol. 21 – FIXEIGHT is a multi-genre compilation that brings together run-and-gun and beat 'em up favorites.

The lineup lists FixEight (1992) and Out Zone (1990) alongside the beat 'em ups Knuckle Bash (1993) and Guardian (1986), and the brick-breaker Ghox (1991).

Polymega Collection Vol. 22 – SNOW BROS expands the selection further with six titles: platformers Snow Bros (1990), Snow Bros. 2 (1994) and Pyros (1987); the run-and-gunner Horror Story (1989); the puzzle game Teki-Paki (1991); and the racing title Rally Bike (1988).

Polymega has set the retail price for each collection at £30.13.

All four volumes are available to pre-order now, and the company states that shipping is expected to begin next month.

Each physical release ships with a Polymega Game DVD, a visual companion booklet, a controller reference, a Polymega Collection sticker, and a themed pin tied to the collection's featured games.

Many of the same Toaplan arcade games have previously appeared on other retro platforms: collectors will note overlap with Evercade’s Toaplan Arcade series, which already includes several of these titles.

For Polymega owners and retro enthusiasts, these new volumes represent another avenue to collect officially licensed versions of classic Toaplan arcade releases.

Release months, platform compatibility and ordering links are listed on Polymega’s online store.

For buyers focused on physical media and boxed extras, the new collections offer the full Polymega presentation and standard boxed inclusions.
