The developer — known worldwide for the Monster Hunter franchise — released the details to clarify how the title will perform on Nintendo’s next-generation hardware.
According to Capcom, players on Nintendo Switch 2 can select between two docked display modes.
The new "Resolution Mode" runs the game at 1260p when the console is docked, while the "Performance Mode" targets 1080p in docked play; both docked options are locked to 30 frames per second.
In handheld mode, Capcom states the game will render at 864p and also run at 30fps.
The company also confirmed that Monster Hunter Wilds will not include ray tracing on Nintendo Switch 2.
In journalistic terms, Capcom’s announcement specifies that the Switch 2 build prioritizes consistent 30fps across all modes, offering players a higher-resolution docked option or a slightly lower-resolution docked mode aimed at other internal priorities, and a handheld profile optimized for the portable display.
Monster Hunter Wilds is the latest entry in Capcom’s long-running Monster Hunter series, which has been a cornerstone of the developer’s catalog and a major factor in its commercial success.
Capcom’s communication on technical targets follows a growing trend of publishers outlining platform-specific performance ahead of launch to set player expectations.
The title is slated to appear on the Nintendo eShop for Switch 2 at launch in December 2026.
These confirmed specifications provide concrete guidance for players and reviewers preparing for the game’s release.
Capcom’s explicit mention of resolution and framerate allows consumers to anticipate the visual and performance profile on Nintendo Switch 2, while the firm decision to omit ray tracing clarifies the scope of graphical features on the platform.
Further official details, including distribution timing on the eShop and any post-launch updates, will be available from Capcom as the December release approaches.
