Pokémon Legends: Z-A Mega Dimensions DLC Reveals Mega Raichu Forms for Nintendo Switch

Pokémon Legends: Z-A, the latest entry in the mainline Pokémon series, is set for release on October 8, 2025, exclusively for Nintendo Switch.

Developed by Game Freak and published by The Pokémon Company, the game takes players back to the vibrant streets of Lumiose City, expanding on the innovative open-world gameplay from prior Legends titles.

Building on the excitement surrounding the release, Nintendo unveiled a first look at the Mega Dimensions DLC during its September 2025 Nintendo Direct broadcast, promising even more ways for fans to experience the Pokémon universe. Pokémon Legends: Z-A comes packed with notable updates to the series’ combat and exploration systems, but one of its standout features is the return of Mega Evolutions.

Notably, the upcoming Mega Dimensions expansion introduces brand-new Mega Evolutions for fan-favorites Greninja, Chesnaught, and Delphox, adding depth and variety to team-building strategies on the Nintendo Switch platform. Central to the Mega Dimensions DLC is the introduction of two unique forms: Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y.

According to an official statement from The Pokémon Company, these Mega-Evolved variants require distinct Mega Stones to transform Raichu into Mega Raichu X or Mega Raichu Y, each offering a different battle style.

Mega Raichu X harnesses electromagnetism to levitate and channels powerful bursts of electricity through its fists for high-impact attacks.

In contrast, Mega Raichu Y delivers swift, electrifying movements, overwhelming opponents with increased speed and surges of electric power.

Both forms will be accessible in Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Mega Dimensions, presenting trainers with versatile options to enhance their teams. Also featured in the DLC’s storyline is Hoopa, the Mischief Pokémon.

Hoopa’s ability to manipulate space by conjuring portals through its ring-like horns not only shapes the narrative of Mega Dimensions but also introduces spatial distortions within Lumiose City.

These distortions promise to offer new mysteries, rewards, and obstacles for trainers exploring this iconic urban setting. While the Mega Dimensions DLC does not yet have a confirmed release date, The Pokémon Company pledges further updates in the near future.
