Super Mario Run Hosts Special Mario & Luigi: Brothership Event on Nintendo Switch

Super Mario Run, Nintendo's acclaimed mobile runner, has launched a new limited-time event celebrating the upcoming Nintendo Switch RPG, Mario & Luigi: Brothership.

The event, officially titled “Mario and Luigi’s New Adventure! Special Mission,” offers fans an engaging way to connect with the beloved Mario & Luigi series, while earning unique in-game statues as rewards.

Super Mario Run first took the mobile gaming world by storm in December 2016, garnering millions of downloads and offering a fresh twist on classic Mario platforming for iOS and Android users.

Developed and published by Nintendo, the game remains a staple of Nintendo’s mobile strategy, frequently updated with special content that ties into major console releases or series milestones. During the "Mario and Luigi’s New Adventure! Special Mission" event, players can tackle a series of missions designed to celebrate Mario & Luigi: Brothership, which is set for release on Nintendo Switch.

By completing these missions, players earn exclusive in-game statues: finishing three missions unlocks the Mario & Connie Statue; completing six missions rewards the Luigi & Snoutlet Statue; and those who finish all nine missions receive the rare Mario & Luigi Statue.

Nintendo has made event progress easy to follow, allowing players to track objectives and achievements by tapping the dedicated icon at the top-right corner of the game’s kingdom interface. The missions introduced for this event are varied, encouraging creative play and replayability.

Tasks include objectives like completing a level without defeating any Goombas or accumulating a specific number of coins.

The first mission, which unlocks an exclusive statue, is straightforward and accessible, simply requiring players to visit the kingdom area in Super Mario Run. This special event is available now and will run until December 19, 2024, giving players a limited window to participate and claim all available rewards.
