Description

Nintendo has officially unveiled the European September Circuit, marking the debut Mario Kart World online event dedicated to players across Europe.

This exciting competition is set to launch on September 27th, offering fans the opportunity to compete head-to-head in 150cc Versus Races on the Nintendo Switch.

The tournament will run from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM BST (6:00 PM to 8:00 PM CET), challenging participants to maximize their Versus Rankings during the two-hour window.

To join the European September Circuit, Nintendo Switch users with an active Nintendo Switch Online subscription can access the event directly within Mario Kart World.

Players simply need to navigate to the 'Online Play' option from the main menu, press the '-' button to search for an event, and enter the Event ID 1023.

Upon successful confirmation, racers will be entered into the competition alongside players from across Europe. At the start of the event, each participant receives a Versus Ranking of 3,000 points.

This figure increases or decreases based on race outcomes throughout the event.

When the tournament period concludes, each player's final ranking is locked in.

Nintendo has announced that one week after the European September Circuit ends, it will release an official leaderboard featuring the top 100 players from the event.

While the tournament does not offer prizes, securing a high placement on the leaderboard promises significant community recognition. A Nintendo spokesperson summarized the event by stating that the European September Circuit delivers an exciting, skill-focused experience for Mario Kart fans to test their racing abilities against the best players on the continent.

This mirrors a successful event previously held in Japan, where the 'Summer Vacation Skill Test' challenged players with a similar format. The European September Circuit builds on Nintendo’s ongoing commitment to enhancing Mario Kart World’s presence on the Nintendo Switch while supporting competitive and community-driven play.

With its straightforward entry process and global leaderboards, this inaugural European event is poised to become a highlight for Mario Kart enthusiasts seeking competition beyond local multiplayer. For those interested in participating, all that’s required is the Mario Kart World game, a Nintendo Switch Online subscription, and a Nintendo Switch console.

As the competition approaches, fans across Europe are gearing up to put their drifting and racing skills to the test for a chance to earn virtual bragging rights in one of the most beloved racing franchises.
