Life is Strange: True Colors Soundtrack, DLC, and Nintendo Switch Release Details Announced

Square Enix, the globally recognized publisher and developer, has officially revealed the complete soundtrack for Life is Strange: True Colors ahead of its highly anticipated launch.

The latest installment in the acclaimed narrative-driven adventure series is set to deepen its emotional impact, thanks to an eclectic mix of licensed and original music, which is now available to stream via an official Spotify playlist.

Set for release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC (via Steam and Stadia) on September 10, 2021, Life is Strange: True Colors continues the franchise’s tradition of immersive storytelling with a strong focus on character-driven narratives.

Nintendo Switch players can expect to see the game arrive on the platform later this year, expanding the series’ reach to a broader audience via the popular handheld-console hybrid and the Nintendo eShop. Life is Strange: True Colors’ original score features exclusive tracks by acclaimed artists such as Angus & Julia Stone, indie pop sensation mxmtoon, and the evocative Novo Amor.

Square Enix confirmed that the soundtrack is carefully curated to enhance the emotional resonance of protagonist Alex Chen’s personal journey, a series hallmark since the first Life is Strange title. Additionally, ahead of launch, Square Enix disclosed the details surrounding the game’s expansion, Life is Strange: True Colors – Wavelengths.

In this narrative DLC, players take on the role of Steph Gingrich, exploring her story set in a radio station.

The publisher has also announced a lineup of tracks that players will have at their fingertips while spinning records as Steph, further immersing gamers in the setting’s indie music culture. Reflecting the importance of music within the Life is Strange series, Square Enix stated that both the main title’s soundtrack and the Wavelengths DLC playlist have been carefully assembled to create an authentic, emotionally charged experience for players.

Fans can listen to the official playlist on Spotify now, providing a preview of the game’s atmospheric sound design ahead of its release. Life is Strange: True Colors will be available for purchase on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC as of September 10, 2021.

The Wavelengths DLC is set for release on September 30, 2021, across the same platforms.

Both the core game and its DLC will arrive on Nintendo Switch later in the year, ensuring that Switch users will soon be able to experience the next chapter in the Life is Strange universe. With its combination of narrative innovation, a powerful soundtrack curated by Square Enix, and expanded platform availability—including Nintendo Switch—Life is Strange: True Colors is set to further cement the franchise’s place in modern gaming history.
