Games and development partner TT Games have officially announced LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, the next major installment in the acclaimed LEGO Batman franchise.

Scheduled for release in 2026, this new title will be available on the Nintendo Switch 2, PC, and other leading consoles, further solidifying LEGO Batman’s legacy as one of the most beloved action-adventure video games inspired by DC Comics. Building upon TT Games’ tradition of merging iconic stories with creative LEGO gameplay and humor, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will immerse players in Bruce Wayne’s transformation into Gotham City’s legendary hero.

Drawing inspiration from decades of Batman films, comics, television, and previous video game adaptations, Legacy of the Dark Knight promises a nostalgic journey packed with Easter eggs and deep DC lore. According to the official announcement, players will follow Batman’s origins, beginning as a young Bruce Wayne training with the League of Shadows.

Throughout the game's narrative-driven campaign, players will assemble a team of familiar allies such as Jim Gordon, Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, Catwoman, and Talia al Ghul.

Together, they must face an ever-expanding roster of DC’s notorious supervillains, including The Joker, The Penguin, Poison Ivy, Ra’s al Ghul, and Bane. Highlighting advancements from previous LEGO games, Legacy of the Dark Knight introduces a dynamic combat system designed to capture Batman’s unique fighting style.

Players can execute fluid attack chains, counters, and dramatic takedowns, all showcased with the classic lightheartedness TT Games is known for.

Both solo and two-player local cooperative modes are supported, allowing fans to experience Gotham’s challenges together.

Iconic Bat-gadgets such as Batarangs and the Batclaw, along with unique abilities for partner characters—like Jim Gordon’s foam sprayer and Catwoman’s whip—offer diverse strategies for every encounter. Beyond combat, the open-world design places players in a detailed LEGO recreation of Gotham City.

This expansive playground is filled with criminal activity to thwart, intricate puzzles to solve, hidden rewards, and unexpected surprises.

Batman’s signature mobility—grappling, gliding, and a host of drivable Batmobiles and Batcycles—ensures seamless traversal throughout the cityscape.

Meanwhile, the customizable Batcave serves as the player's base, displaying collectible vehicles, trophies, and an array of unlockable Batsuits, each inspired by Batman’s rich multimedia history. LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight also aims to challenge longtime fans with new difficulty settings, including a Caped Crusader mode and the more demanding Dark Knight level, enhancing replayability for those seeking a tougher adventure.

These features, combined with the return of TT Games’ signature humor, ensure that both newcomers and veteran LEGO Batman players will find much to enjoy. With its 2026 launch planned for Nintendo Switch 2, PC, and other platforms, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is poised to become a significant addition to the LEGO games legacy, offering a compelling blend of action, humor, and Gotham City’s timeless mythos.
