Kirby Air Riders Event Postponed Due to Bug, Sakurai Confirms Rescheduling Plans

Kirby Air Riders, one of the standout releases on the Nintendo Switch, has quickly gained a loyal player base thanks to its engaging gameplay and content-rich structure.

Developed under the supervision of Masahiro Sakurai and published by Nintendo, the game delivers a refreshing take on high-speed racing intertwined with strategic, multiplayer-focused challenges.

Since its launch, Kirby Air Riders has maintained a robust schedule of in-game events designed to keep the online community engaged and encourage frequent play through unique rewards and challenges. However, the development team recently postponed the much-anticipated "Race to the Finish" event after discovering a critical bug.

This decision was announced through official channels, where Masahiro Sakurai and his team explained the situation to the Kirby Air Riders community. The issue centers on the event "Settle It with a Race! City Trial." According to the developers, a technical error has caused event-specific race rules to persist into regular City Trial gameplay sessions.

This unintentional carryover disrupts standard play and, more notably, triggers errors when players attempt to join online sessions, effectively preventing City Trial matches from launching properly.

The development team advises affected players to restart the game software, which will resolve the immediate issue and restore normal gameplay. "We have identified a problem affecting the 'Settle It with a Race! City Trial' event, where race rules remain in effect outside the event and can interfere with online play.

As a consequence, we have decided to cancel the current event," Sakurai's team stated.

They further explained that any attempt to start City Trial online while under the event's race-specific rules results in an error, but that restarting the game will clear these conditions.

"We sincerely apologize for the disruption and inconvenience to our players.

Once the problem is fully resolved, we intend to reschedule the event and will notify the community about the new dates and the availability of event rewards." Kirby Air Riders continues to be an active title on the Nintendo eShop, with a growing library of events and content updates.

The development team's transparent communication and swift response to technical issues reinforce their commitment to player satisfaction.

Players can expect an announcement regarding the return of the "Race to the Finish" event once the necessary fixes are in place.

In the meantime, Nintendo encourages all affected users to restart their software to resume normal City Trial activities.
