Square Enix has officially confirmed the discontinuation of the Nintendo Switch cloud versions of several Kingdom Hearts titles, following announcements made during a recent Nintendo Direct.
The company announced that cloud-based editions will be removed from sale on June 9, 2026, but the streamed versions will remain playable for existing purchasers until June 9, 2027.
In parallel, native digital editions for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 are slated for release later in 2026.
According to Square Enix’s support notice, the sale of Nintendo Switch cloud titles in the KINGDOM HEARTS series was discontinued at 14:59 (UTC) on Tuesday, June 9, 2026.
The company clarified that those cloud versions will remain accessible to owners until 14:59 (UTC) on Wednesday, June 9, 2027.
Square Enix apologized to customers for the abrupt notice and provided guidance for affected players.

Save data can be transferred from the cloud versions to the Nintendo Switch 2 digital editions.
