Famitsu's latest Japanese physical sales chart for the week of October 5–11 sees Square Enix's Kingdom Hearts Collection [I~III] debut at number one on Switch 2, marking a notable entry for the series on Nintendo's next-generation handheld-console hybrid.

According to Famitsu's data, the Switch 2 version of Kingdom Hearts Collection [I~III] moved 23,411 physical units during the tracking week.

The broader top ten reflects a relatively quiet sales week in Japan.

Rhythm Heaven Groove remained a strong seller on Nintendo Switch, taking second place with 14,527 physical units for the week and a reported lifetime total of 1,080,343 units.

Bandai Namco's Ace Combat entry placed third on the PlayStation 5 with 13,801 units for the week and a cumulative total of 76,814 units.

Capcom's Dragon's Dogma II: Dark Arisen appeared twice in the weekly top ten, with the Switch 2 physical debut in fourth place at 7,314 units and the PS5 version entering at eighth with 5,099 units.

D3 Publisher's Earth Defence Force 5 also saw a Switch 2 physical debut, entering the chart at seventh with 5,237 units.

Other notable entries include Splatoon Raiders on Switch 2 at ninth with 5,043 units (681,648 lifetime) and Nintendo's Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream on Switch at tenth with 4,663 units (1,628,085 lifetime).

In journalistic terms: while a 23,411-unit launch for Kingdom Hearts on Switch 2 represents a number-one finish, the figure is modest compared to some blockbuster debuts; Famitsu's weekly totals indicate an overall subdued retail week rather than a broad retail surge.

Hardware sales for the same week continued to favor Switch 2, which led all consoles with 22,420 units sold and a reported lifetime total of 6,408,973 units.

Sony's PlayStation 5 Digital Edition followed in second with 11,611 units for the week (1,470,133 lifetime).

The combined three Switch 1 SKUs (Switch OLED, Switch Lite and original Switch) accounted for 5,806 units that week, with the Switch OLED model listing 3,102 weekly units and a 9,645,028 lifetime figure.

Famitsu's weekly rankings remain an important barometer for Japan's retail market, capturing physical sales across platforms.

For developers and publishers—Square Enix, Nintendo, Capcom, Bandai Namco and D3 Publisher—these figures offer a snapshot of consumer demand for both new releases and ongoing catalog titles in Japan's physical retail ecosystem.
