For Hire Announced for Nintendo Switch—A Jazz-Fueled FPS with 1930s Cartoon Flair PlaySide and Fumi Games have officially unveiled Mouse: P.I.

For Hire for the Nintendo Switch, with a launch window set for 2025.

This title marks a unique entry into the Switch library, blending classic first-person shooter mechanics with a bold aesthetic inspired by the black-and-white cartoons of the 1930s.

The announcement, made on October 17, places Mouse: P.I.

For Hire among the most anticipated indie releases for Nintendo’s hybrid console. Developed by Fumi Games, Mouse: P.I.

For Hire is set in a gritty, noir-inspired city teeming with criminal gangs, devious mobs, and a host of colorful—or rather, monochromatic—characters.

Staying true to its roots, the game adopts the iconic 'rubber hose' animation style, paying homage to early animation legends and delivering a nostalgic yet fresh experience.

Players step into the shoes of a private investigator mouse navigating a metropolis plagued by chaos, corruption, and political intrigue. According to statements from the developers, Mouse: P.I.

For Hire offers an experience that combines fast-paced FPS gameplay with playful weaponry and inventive power-ups.

The game stands out thanks to its distinctive health indicators and the enemy AI, which exhibit behaviors reminiscent of vintage cartoon antics.

This playful twist on the genre creates a lighthearted contrast with the game’s noir narrative and dark undertones. Notably, the cast includes acclaimed voice actor Troy Baker, who lends his talents to the character Jack Pepper.

The inclusion of Baker, announced on June 6, is expected to add depth to the game’s story-driven elements and elevate the already atmospheric world-building. Mouse: P.I.

For Hire will launch digitally via the Nintendo Switch eShop.

The game’s trailers, showcased during events such as the Summer Game Fest, have received positive attention for their creative art direction and fidelity to early animation.

With its expected 2025 release, both PlaySide and Fumi Games are set to deliver an homage to classic cartoons while pushing the boundaries of what players expect from a first-person shooter on Nintendo's platform. For continued updates on Mouse: P.I.
