Famitsu's latest boxed-sales report for the week of September 7–13 confirms Rhythm Heaven Groove as Japan's best-selling boxed title for the period, and marks a major milestone for the Switch release.

The weekly ranking, which covers physical retail sales in Japan, shows Rhythm Heaven Groove moving 24,756 units in that week and surpassing 1,000,000 total boxed sales in the region.

The Switch title's steady performance pushed its lifetime boxed total to 1,000,045 units in Japan, a significant achievement for the franchise on Nintendo platforms.

Famitsu's chart places Onimusha: Way of the Sword — published by Capcom — in second place for the week on PS5 with 19,654 units, bringing its PlayStation 5 boxed total to 96,184 units.

When combined with the Switch 2 boxed sales of 7,070 units for the same title, Onimusha's combined weekly boxed sales exceed Rhythm Heaven Groove's single-platform total for the period.

Capcom has previously reported that worldwide sales for Onimusha: Way of the Sword topped 1 million in a single day.

Lifetime hardware totals listed by Famitsu include Switch 2 at 6,293,814 units and the original Switch at 20,313,045 units.
