The musou-style prequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild originally launched in 2020 and has since become a notable entry in Koei Tecmo's Warriors franchise.
According to the Nintendo Direct announcement, the Definitive Edition for Switch 2 will include all previously released Expansion Pass content from the original release and introduce a new, higher-difficulty Calamity Mode.
Nintendo and Koei Tecmo also said the port will deliver performance improvements and support for more enemies on screen simultaneously, taking advantage of the Switch 2 hardware.
The presentation made several practical points for existing players: this release is a dedicated Switch 2 port rather than an upgrade pack for Nintendo Switch (original model) owners, but Nintendo noted there will be a discount available to players who own the original Switch version.
