Neo Retro and Outernet Venue will host a Vectrex Mini launch party in London on Saturday, November 21, to celebrate the reimagined Vectrex hardware ahead of the console’s scheduled late 2026 release. The event is set for The Lower Third and begins at 10:00 A.M.; tickets are on sale through DICE priced at £15. The venue is 18+ only.
The Vectrex Mini project is led by French emulation group Neo Retro and recreates the original Milton Bradley Vectrex console first released in 1982. The original Vectrex was notable for its cartridge-based library, wireframe vector visuals and built-in CRT display. Neo Retro’s Mini aims to capture that distinctive presentation in a smaller, modernized package while adding contemporary conveniences.
Event programming will include a gallery of Vectrex Mini test units and a developer showcase spotlighting teams currently making games for the platform. Project lead David Oghia will present a talk titled "The Past, Present & Future of Vectrex," which will cover the platform’s history and the team’s plans for the updated hardware. Organizers have confirmed attendees will receive complimentary drinks and goody bags, and the evening will feature live music from Serbian techno DJ Remute, who previously released music on retro cartridge formats.
Neo Retro’s Vectrex Mini was crowdfunded on Kickstarter and met its funding goals rapidly. The retail device will ship with 14 built-in games, and the hardware includes SD card support for additional titles. The team also confirmed that a previously planned OLED screen was no longer viable for the product, prompting a change to the display plan communicated to backers. Pre-orders have closed; Neo Retro has indicated the console will be available for sale following its official launch window in late 2026.
For press and attendees, the launch party provides an early hands-on look at the Mini units and a chance to meet developers and contributors to the project. Tickets and event details are listed on DICE’s ticketing page. This gathering continues a recent trend of retro-focused hardware revivals reaching mainstream attention through crowdfunding and public showcases.
