Aspyr shadow-dropped Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition on Nintendo Switch 2, bringing the concluding chapter of the Tomb Raider reboot trilogy to Nintendo's new hardware.

The release arrives without a prior Nintendo Direct-style announcement and follows Aspyr's recent Switch 2 ports of the earlier reboot entries.

Release details and pricing

Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition is available on the Nintendo Switch 2 eShop for $39.99.

Aspyr is offering a 10% discount on the full price through 4th November, according to the developer's announcement.

The Definitive Edition bundle includes the base game and the original release’s seven Challenge Tombs.

At the time of writing the eShop page was not yet visible but Aspyr indicated it would appear on the storefront shortly.

What’s included

Aspyr lists the Definitive Edition content as the base Shadow of the Tomb Raider game, all seven DLC Challenge Tombs, two-player online co-op, and all downloadable weapons, outfits, and skills from the original release.

The package replicates the key extras that characterized earlier definitive and complete editions of the title on other platforms.

Developer synopsis (rewritten)

Aspyr summarizes the title as the final chapter of the rebooted Tomb Raider saga, in which protagonist Lara Croft races to prevent a Maya apocalypse.

The studio explains that Lara must traverse deadly jungles and treacherous tombs to reach the lost city of Paititi, using stealth, crafted gear and an array of weapons to stop the shadowy organization Trinity from claiming the power of an ancient god.

Beyond the main story, Aspyr highlights optional Challenge Tombs, resource scavenging, gear crafting and side missions as additional gameplay elements.

Trilogy bundle and reception

Alongside the single-title release, Aspyr has also launched the Tomb Raider: Definitive Survivor Trilogy bundle on Switch 2 for $69.99, packaging all three reboot-era games together.

Earlier Switch 2 ports of the rebooted Tomb Raider games received positive coverage from our outlet, with both prior ports earning 8/10 in our reviews.

Availability

The Definitive Edition and the Trilogy bundle are listed for eShop release now; players should find the product pages on the Nintendo Switch 2 eShop within hours if they are not already live.

The limited 10% launch discount on Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition runs through 4th November.
