Pre-orders for the physical release open October 9, 2026.
The title previously arrived on the Switch 2 platform as a digital download earlier in the summer.
Rise of the Tomb Raider was developed by Crystal Dynamics and originally published by Square Enix.
First released in 2015 on Xbox platforms, the game has since been ported to multiple systems and received a Definitive/Complete Edition in subsequent years.
Limited Run Games is known for producing limited-run physical editions of digital and multi-platform titles, and this announcement brings another high-profile franchise to physical collectors on Nintendo's latest hardware.
Limited Run confirmed this is a full, proper cartridge version rather than a download code on a game card.
Fans can choose a standard cartridge copy or a collector’s edition package.
The collector’s edition includes a steelbook, a Trinity patch, and a light-up Divine Source replica desk ornament, as detailed in the company announcement.
In its overview of the game, the publisher summarized the core campaign and included content in journalistic terms: players follow Lara Croft on an expedition through the Siberian wilderness in pursuit of the lost city of Kitezh and the Divine Source, racing against the paramilitary organization Trinity.
The release bundles the full single-player campaign with puzzle tombs, survival crafting and upgrade systems, and the game’s combat and stealth mechanics.
Limited Run also confirmed this physical release is the complete edition, including all previously released DLC and extras.
The physical complete edition includes all season pass content and DLC: Baba Yaga: The Temple of the Witch, Cold Darkness Awakened, Blood Ties, Lara's Nightmare, Endurance Mode and Co-op Endurance.
It also includes exclusive DLC outfits and weapons, expansion cards, additional skins and the TR III Reimagined Antarctica outfit as listed by the publisher.
Collectors and retail buyers planning to secure a copy should note the October 9, 2026 pre-order start and monitor Limited Run Games' storefront and the Nintendo eShop for related announcements.
For context, Nintendo's hybrid Switch line launched in 2017 and has since seen multiple first- and third-party ports, with Limited Run continuing to serve the physical-collector market across Nintendo platforms.
