Sea of Stars DLC 'Throes of the Watchmaker' Announced: Free Expansion Arrives Spring 2025

Sabotage Studio has officially announced the highly anticipated DLC for its acclaimed turn-based RPG, Sea of Stars.

Titled 'Throes of the Watchmaker,' this substantial post-launch content is set for release in Spring 2025 across Nintendo Switch, Xbox, PlayStation consoles, and PC.

The announcement was made during Nintendo's latest Indie World showcase, drawing immediate attention from fans and industry insiders alike. Building on the success of Sea of Stars—which launched in August 2023 to critical acclaim and robust sales—Throes of the Watchmaker introduces players to a captivating new adventure within the established universe.

Zale and Valere, the main protagonists and Solstice Warriors, are transported to Horloge, a magical miniature clockwork world threatened by a mysterious cursed carnival.

Here, the duo must adapt to entirely new roles; Zale swaps his signature sword for juggling tricks, while Valere trades her staff to perform as an acrobat, signaling a significant shift in combat style and gameplay. According to Sabotage Studio, "Valere and Zale embark on a journey into Horloge, a whimsical universe where they're challenged by unconventional rules and the looming danger of a cursed circus.

To fully master their Sun and Moon abilities, they must learn to thrive in these unfamiliar conditions." Alongside the revamped protagonists, the DLC introduces Artificer, a brand-new playable character who boasts a mechanized design and the ability to wield lasers as a sharpshooter.
