QUByte ReConnect showcase 2026: Gaelco collections, PS1 ports, and free PlayStation updates announced
QUByte Interactive held its first QUByte ReConnect stream on June 18–19, 2026, positioning the showcase as a focused event to deliver retro arcade and console titles to modern platforms. The Brazilian publisher, known for emulation-based compilations such as Top Racer Collection, Street Racer Collection and the Soccer Kid Collection, used the event to confirm multiple 2026 releases across PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, and to preview PlayStation-era ports planned for 2027.
Gaelco collections and Biomechanical
QUByte announced three Gaelco-based releases arriving in 2026 for PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. The Gaelco Sports Collection bundles five arcade sports games — World Rally Championship, World Rally 2, Snowboard Championship, Squash and Touch and Go — and will include emulation features such as CRT filters. The publisher also confirmed Biomechanical, a modern rerelease of Gaelco & Zeus’s 1995 run-and-gun Biomechanical Toy, and the Thunder Hoop Collection, an emulation package containing Gaelco’s 2D platformer Thunder Hoop (1992) and its sequel Thunder Hoop Strikes Back (1994).
PlayStation-era ports and 2027 previews
QUByte showed footage of three original PlayStation titles it intends to release on PC and modern consoles in 2027: King of the Jungle’s Invasion from Beyond (also known as B-Movie), Eutechnyx’s cartoon racer Motor Mash, and n-Space/GT Interactive’s submarine shooter Tiger Shark (originally released in 1997). Notably, Visual Concepts’ PS1 title One — previously mentioned by QUByte as a target for its PlayStation emulation work — did not appear during the showcase; the company did not provide a status update for that title during the stream.
Free PlayStation versions for existing owners
QUByte confirmed it will add PlayStation versions of Glover and Street Racer to their existing modern-console releases in 2027, and that those PlayStation versions will be provided at no cost to current owners. QUByte framed the additions as part of a “legacy tech” effort: the company said the reveal was intended to demonstrate its commitment to players who have supported its retro releases, a point echoed by host Rodrigo Coelho, who described the announcement as evidence of QUByte’s ongoing support for its community.
Event context and timing
The ReConnect presentation followed a June 18 announcement and streamed on QUByte’s YouTube channel. The publisher emphasized the showcase was dedicated entirely to its QUByte Classics lineup, with exclusive trailers and emulation updates focused on titles arriving in 2026 and beyond.
For players tracking retro releases, the stream confirmed multiple Gaelco reissues for 2026 and set clear expectations for PlayStation-era ports in 2027, while promising free PlayStation builds of two existing QUByte titles for current owners.
