Square Enix will celebrate Final Fantasy X’s 25th anniversary with a temporary museum in Tokyo this September, the company announced.
The exhibition will open at the Lumine Zero venue in Shinjuku and run from September 12 to September 27, offering attendees themed exhibits and commemorative merchandise tied to the landmark role-playing game.
According to the announcement, Japanese residents can submit fan art and comments related to Final Fantasy X through an online form until July 31.
Square Enix said it will select entries from those submissions and feature chosen works at the museum.
Further details on exhibits, ticketing, and schedules will be posted on the official Final Fantasy website and the franchise’s X account as they become available.
Square Enix also released a “25th Anniversary Special Movie” for Final Fantasy X that compiles game cinematics with key dialogue highlights.
The trailer serves as a retrospective ahead of the museum and the wider anniversary program.
Final Fantasy X originally launched in Japan on July 19, 2001, becoming the first mainline Final Fantasy title on the PlayStation 2 and marking the series’ first entry to receive a direct sequel with 2003’s Final Fantasy X-2.
