Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade Achieves Top 10 Sales on Nintendo Switch 2 in January 2026

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade Achieves Top 10 Sales on Nintendo Switch 2 in January 2026 January 2026 has proven to be a pivotal month for Square Enix’s Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, as it landed among the "Top 10 Best-Selling Premium Games" on Nintendo platforms according to new sales charts released by Circana's Mat Piscatella.

The much-anticipated release on the Nintendo Switch 2 has further solidified Square Enix's strong presence on Nintendo’s latest hardware. According to Circana, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade debuted in second place for premium game sales on Nintendo’s platforms in January, trailing only behind Pokémon Legends: Z-A and outperforming other high-profile releases like Donkey Kong Bananza.

It is important to note that Nintendo’s first-party titles on these charts do not reflect digital sales, and specific unit sales data have not been disclosed.

Nonetheless, inclusion in the top sales rankings is an impressive accomplishment for Square Enix’s RPG and underscores the title’s appeal on the Switch 2. Further emphasizing its momentum, Final Fantasy VII Remake rose dramatically in the all-platform rankings, surging from 225th position in December to 9th place in January among the "Top 20 Best-Selling Premium Games" in the United States.

This surge is attributed to the combined success of both the Switch 2 and Xbox releases.

By contrast, Pokémon Legends: Z-A, after ranking sixth in December, shifted to 16th place in January’s overall chart. On the hardware front, Circana’s Mat Piscatella highlighted a 16% increase in hardware spending year-over-year, reaching $248 million in January.

Spending on the Nintendo Switch 2 played a crucial role in offsetting declines experienced by PlayStation 5 (down 17%), Xbox Series (down 27%), and the original Switch (down 79%).

Despite these shifts, PlayStation 5 maintained its position as the top-performing platform in both unit and dollar sales for the month, with Nintendo Switch 2 taking the runner-up spot in both categories. For Switch 2 users interested in experiencing the game firsthand, a demo for Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is available now on the Switch eShop.

In related news, Square Enix also recently confirmed the release date for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on Nintendo’s new platform.

These milestones underscore Square Enix’s significant commitment to the Switch 2 ecosystem and reinforce the franchise’s enduring popularity with both longtime fans and newcomers alike.
