The announcement came during the company's Level-5 Vision 2026 '2 Dream' presentation and confirms a substantial paid expansion for the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 release of the game.

According to details shared by Level-5 during the presentation, the DLC adds two new Life Ranks — God-in-Training and God — which present fresh challenges and objectives for players to complete as they advance toward the new top rank, God.
Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino summarized the expansion's intent by explaining that the paid content will be rich with new activities and progression, and that players will be able to pursue the new God-in-Training and God ranks through dedicated challenges.
Crafting receives a notable overhaul in The Celestial Express.
The DLC enables recipes to produce different-looking variants of the same item, and certain God Recipes can yield equipment that comes pre-equipped with exclusive God Skills.
Level-5 described this change as encouraging players to continue crafting to discover ideal combinations of appearance and functionality.
The expansion also adds new companion and traversal systems.
A new accessory category called Wingmate will introduce flying companions that follow and support players during exploration and combat.
In addition, The Celestial Express brings a special mount that can be customized with parts crafted by God-rank crafting Lives, altering both the mount's appearance and in-game statistics.
Level-5 noted that players will be able to attack while riding this mount.
