Bethesda Announces Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition for Nintendo Switch 2
In a major reveal coinciding with Fallout Day, Bethesda has officially confirmed that Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition will be released for Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026.
This announcement was made during Bethesda’s annual broadcast celebrating the Fallout franchise’s enduring legacy.
The Anniversary Edition is set to deliver the full Fallout 4 experience, combining the critically acclaimed base game with all six downloadable content (DLC) packs and more than 150 pieces of Creation Club content, providing both new and returning players a comprehensive journey through post-apocalyptic Boston.
Comprehensive Fallout 4 Experience Comes to Nintendo Switch 2
The Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition includes all previously released DLC—Automatron, Wasteland Workshop, Far Harbor, Contraptions Workshop, Vault-Tec Workshop, and Nuka-World.
On top of this, players will have access to a substantial catalog of additional gameplay enhancements, weapons, and cosmetic items through the Creation Club.
This marks the first time the full-fledged Fallout RPG experience will be available on a Nintendo platform, setting a new milestone for both Bethesda and Nintendo gamers.
Previously, Fallout’s presence on Nintendo consoles was limited to Fallout Shelter, a simulation spin-off which launched on Nintendo Switch in 2018.
While Fallout Shelter offered a lighter, management-focused gameplay loop, the arrival of Fallout 4 signals the series’ expansive, narrative-driven content coming to a Nintendo system for the first time.
Bethesda’s latest announcement follows the Fallout 4 "next-gen" update in 2023, which delivered enhanced visual and performance improvements for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
The Anniversary Edition takes this a step further, compiling the base game with all major expansions and Creation Club content in a complete package, mirroring the definitive releases Bethesda has created for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and other flagship titles.
Bethesda Game Studios stated that bringing Fallout 4 to Switch 2 exemplifies their commitment to expanding the reach of their franchises, highlighting the significant technical advancements made possible by Nintendo’s upcoming hardware.
While pricing details have not yet been released, the company is expected to align the game's value with previous Anniversary Edition launches.
As part of the broader push for more expansive third-party support on the Nintendo Switch 2, Fallout 4’s debut may pave the way for additional Bethesda titles—such as Fallout 76—to eventually join the platform.
For now, fans can look forward to experiencing one of the most celebrated post-apocalyptic RPGs on Nintendo hardware for the very first time in 2026.
Stay tuned for more official updates from Bethesda and Nintendo as the release date approaches and more details about the Switch 2 ecosystem are revealed.
