Mario Kart World European Springtime Skirmish: How to Join the Nintendo Switch 2 Event (Event ID 5631)

Nintendo has announced a new online event for Mario Kart World on Nintendo Switch 2 titled the European Springtime Skirmish.

The event runs on Saturday, 25 April, from 12:00 UK time until 20:00 UK time, and players can join in-game by searching for the four-digit Event ID: 5631.

This announcement continues Nintendo’s long history of timed multiplayer competitions for its karting series, which traces back to Super Mario Kart on the SNES and most recently saw Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on the Nintendo Switch.

Event format and rules

When the European Springtime Skirmish begins, each participant will begin with a versus rating of 3,000.

Rankings will increase or decrease based on finishing position at the end of each race, whether at the final stage or via elimination.

Players are advised to place as highly as possible to raise their versus rating and stay competitive in the standings.

This event uses the Knockout Tour format.

Knockout Tour races are longer than standard VS races, and the event window lasts a full eight hours.

During that period, each player can participate in up to 16 Knockout Tour races.

Once a player reaches the 16-race limit or the event time expires, their rank will be locked in for the event.

How to participate

- From the game’s main menu, select Online Play.

- Press the – Button to choose Search for an event.

- Enter the four-digit Event ID: 5631.

- Confirm the entry to view event details and join.

What this means for players

For competitive players and fans of Mario Kart World on Nintendo Switch 2, the European Springtime Skirmish offers a concentrated window to chase versus-rating gains and test strategies in extended Knockout Tour races.

Because results are locked after the race cap or event end, players should plan sessions to maximize their 16 available races within the eight-hour window.

Nintendo’s use of in-game Event IDs makes joining temporary tournaments straightforward across its online offerings.
