Grasshopper Manufacture founder and director Goichi "Suda51" Suda has confirmed the studio is preparing to mark the 20th anniversary of No More Heroes, the cult action series that began as a Wii exclusive in 2007.

In a new interview with Famitsu, Suda indicated the studio plans to deliver something special for the milestone and affirmed that series protagonist Travis Touchdown will return.

The original No More Heroes launched in Japan on December 6, 2007, making the franchise’s 20th anniversary fall in 2027.

Suda told Famitsu that Grasshopper Manufacture is planning a notable commemoration and that Marvelous, a partner on past projects, is aware of the anniversary plans and the studio would like to work with them to mark the occasion.

Those comments were framed as intentions to celebrate the series rather than detailed announcements about specific products or release plans.

No More Heroes’ platform history underpins why any anniversary moves will attract attention.

The first game debuted exclusively on Wii in 2007; an enhanced re-release titled No More Heroes: Heroes' Paradise arrived on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2010 (the PS3 version reached the U.S. in 2011).

Both No More Heroes 1 and No More Heroes 2 were later released on PC in 2021 ahead of No More Heroes 3.

No More Heroes 3 launched on Nintendo Switch on August 27, 2021 and was subsequently ported to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC in 2022.

Travis Touchdown’s continuing popularity is central to Grasshopper’s decision to mark the anniversary.

Suda has previously acknowledged that, despite concluding Travis’ main storyline with No More Heroes 3, the character continues to resonate with players and remains a defining presence for the studio.

Fans and industry observers should watch official channels for confirmation and details.

Announcements could come through publisher press releases, Grasshopper Manufacture statements, coverage in outlets like Famitsu, or platform-focused showcases such as Nintendo Direct and eShop listings.

Until Grasshopper or its partners provide specifics, Suda’s Famitsu interview is the clearest indication yet that No More Heroes’ 20th anniversary will be treated as a major event for the series and its fans.
