Nintendo Acknowledges Kirby Air Riders Bugs on Switch 2, Patch in Development

Nintendo has officially acknowledged the presence of two notable bugs affecting Kirby Air Riders, the highly anticipated sequel that launched for Nintendo Switch 2 last month.

Developed and published by Nintendo, Kirby Air Riders has quickly garnered a strong following, praised for its engaging gameplay and polished presentation.

However, even with its solid launch and an 8/10 score in recent reviews, some technical issues have surfaced, prompting a swift response from the development team. In a recent post made on X (formerly Twitter) by Nintendo’s official customer support account (@nintendo_cs) and translated by Oatmealdome, the company addressed player reports regarding two specific issues.

The first bug involves the City Trial mode's 'Dyna Blade' event, which many fans have noticed is appearing less frequently than intended.

Nintendo has assured players that the development team has recognized this irregularity and is actively working on a solution to ensure the event’s proper appearance rate in the game. The second issue centers on a glitch within the Free Run timer.

After extended use of the Free Run mode, the timer may stop counting, potentially impacting players experimenting with long runs or speed trial strategies.

Notably, this glitch appears to occur only after exceptionally lengthy play sessions.

Social media user @maziari1105 demonstrated the anomaly with footage showing the timer ceasing after an astonishing 116 hours of continuous play.

Nintendo reassures users that average play sessions are unlikely to be affected, as the bug typically manifests well beyond regular usage periods. While Nintendo has not specified an exact timeline for the forthcoming patch, the company emphasized that a fix is in progress.

Historically, Nintendo has demonstrated a strong commitment to post-launch support on the Nintendo Switch family of systems, ensuring that titles available through the Nintendo eShop and physical retailers remain stable and enjoyable for players. Kirby Air Riders continues to receive positive feedback for its innovative features and competitive multiplayer modes.

The quick response to these technical issues highlights Nintendo’s ongoing dedication to quality and player satisfaction.

Fans can look forward to a patch addressing the City Trial event appearance and Free Run timer bug in the near future, maintaining Nintendo Switch 2’s reputation for high-standard game experiences. Kirby Air Riders is available now on Nintendo Switch 2, both digitally via the Nintendo eShop and at retail locations worldwide.
