Idea Factory and Compile Heart have officially unveiled Dokapon Kingdom Connect 2, a new sequel in the long-running Dokapon series slated to release for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 in Summer 2027.

The title returns to the franchise's RPG-style board game formula and brings several new systems, expanded customization, and both local and online multiplayer support.

According to the announcement, Dokapon Kingdom Connect 2 expands on the series' signature board-game RPG loop: players travel across board-style maps, battle monsters, rescue towns and earn money, but victory ultimately depends on outmaneuvering rivals through attacks, theft and strategic play.

The publishers described the new entry as preserving the franchise’s competitive heart while introducing fresh features meant to deepen player interaction.

Key features confirmed in the reveal include a more robust character-creation suite that lets players save favorite designs, and a new Co-op Battles mode in which all players team up against powerful "Giga Monsters." The announcement explains that cooperative encounters deliver a large shared reward pool, and players must decide whether to divide spoils fairly or try to hoard loot for themselves.

The developers also detailed an additional mode in which every player begins at a high level equipped with powerful gear, offering a faster, more explosive gameplay option.

Combat retains the Dokapon series’ mind-game structure: each turn a player selects a single command such as Attack, Defend, Strike or Magic, and outcomes depend on predicting an opponent’s choice.

The reveal reiterates that landing on the same board space can trigger head-to-head duels where winners can steal money, items or even impose cosmetic pranks on losers, like changing hairstyles or names.

Multiplayer support is confirmed for both online and local play, with online matches accommodating two to four players.

The announcement also lists language support for Japanese, English, Thai, Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese.

A first trailer accompanied the reveal, offering the earliest look at maps, character creation and combat mechanics.

Dokapon Kingdom Connect 2 will be available on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 in Summer 2027.

Idea Factory and Compile Heart released the initial details and trailer as part of the official game announcement.
