Ninja JaJaMaru: Yokai Night Parade Revealed — City Connection Announces 2027 Hack-and-Slash RPG for Switch 2, PC, and PS5

City Connection has fully revealed Ninja JaJaMaru: Yokai Night Parade, a new entry in the long-running JaJaMaru franchise created to commemorate the series' 40th anniversary.

The studio confirmed the hack-and-slash RPG is scheduled to launch sometime in 2027 and will be available on Nintendo Switch 2, PC, and PlayStation 5.

The announcement was accompanied by a new trailer showcasing core mechanics and world locations.

In its announcement, City Connection outlined the game's premise and core loop in clear terms: JaJaMaru pursues the kidnapped Princess Sakura and becomes trapped in an otherworldly dungeon where a Yokai Night Parade is in full swing.

Players will fight through waves of yokai while exploring dungeons for powerful equipment and upgrades.

Gameplay and systems

The title positions itself as a loot-driven hack-and-slash RPG.

City Connection states there are more than 300 types of equipment to collect, including weapons such as ninja swords, kusarigama, and shuriken.

During dungeon expeditions, glowing torii gates can transport players into the titular "Yokai Night Parade," a special encounter mode where unique rules apply and boss yokai lead large hordes with distinct animations and attack patterns.

Players unlock and master Ninpo abilities as they clear dungeons.

These flashy, high-impact skills are designed to clear crowds and turn the tide of large battles.

The game's roster also includes JaJaMaru's familiar sidekick, Gama Pakkun, as part of the playable experience.

Progression and environments

JaJaMaru's room serves as a persistent home base where players can upgrade stats, enhance gear, and decorate with furniture discovered in dungeons.

City Connection notes that furniture items not only customize the room but also grant stat boosts.

Environments shown in the trailer include factories, yokocho alleys, onsen, and snowy mountains, each populated by region-specific foes.

Narrative

The announced narrative stakes center on Nurari Pyoko, identified as the Yokai Supreme Commander orchestrating the largest Yokai Night Parade in history, and the central objective of rescuing Princess Sakura.

Release window and availability

City Connection has not provided a firm release date beyond the 2027 window.

The game will release on Nintendo Switch 2, PC, and PlayStation 5; further distribution details, such as eShop or storefront timing, are expected as the launch approaches.
