DK Challenge Nintendo Switch Online: Donkey Kong Bananza and NSO Events Start June 10

Nintendo has announced a summer slate of Nintendo Switch Online (NSO) challenges centered on the Donkey Kong franchise, plus a limited-time Mario crossover within the Emerald Rush DLC.

The new "DK Challenge" event launches on 10 June and runs through 1 September, offering fans time-limited tasks across classic Donkey Kong titles and in-game rewards via Nintendo Switch Online.

According to the Nintendo Direct reveal, the DK Challenge goes live on 10 June at 02:00 BST / 03:00 CEST / 18:00 PT (9 June) / 21:00 ET (9 June) and remains active until 1 September.

Nintendo explained that these challenges are designed to test player skill across a selection of NSO titles, with digital challenge cards awarded to players who complete objectives.

Tasks range from precision platforming to sequence-based goals — for example, moving barrels to the top of a Donkey Kong Country 2 stage or navigating a mine cart section in Donkey Kong Country.

Players can access the full list of challenges from the Nintendo Switch Online home page, located at the bottom of the Nintendo Switch main menu.

Nintendo confirmed that challenge progress and rewards will be tracked through the NSO interface, making it straightforward for subscribers to participate.

The event also ties into Donkey Kong Bananza and the Emerald Rush DLC with a Mario-themed crossover.

Nintendo described a limited-time Mario event inside Emerald Rush that lets players unlock exclusive Donkey Kong and Pauline outfits and encounter Power-Up Blocks and Mushrooms on DK Island.

The first wave of the crossover runs from 9–30 June, followed by subsequent windows on 14–21 July, 4–11 August, and 25 August–1 September.

These NSO initiatives expand Nintendo's recent trend of seasonal and cross-promotional content, giving both casual players and completionists new reasons to revisit classic Donkey Kong releases on the Nintendo Switch.

For subscribers, the DK Challenge and Bananza crossover present clear, time-limited incentives to engage with NSO libraries and the Emerald Rush DLC during the summer months.
