Digimon Story: Time Stranger Demo Live on Nintendo eShop Ahead of July 10, 2026 Switch and Switch 2 Release

Bandai Namco has published a playable demo for Digimon Story: Time Stranger on the Nintendo eShop worldwide, ahead of the full game's launch on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 on July 10, 2026.

The demo is intended to give players an early look at the RPG’s opening sequence and additional exploratory content, and it provides a save transfer option that carries progress into the retail release.

What the Demo Includes

According to Bandai Namco’s announcement, the demo’s first section presents the game’s opening in full.

That segment lets players experience exploration, turn-based battles, dialogue, and Digivolution mechanics from the outset.

The publisher also confirms that save data created in the demo will transfer to the full game, allowing a direct continuation for players who buy the release.

A second portion of the demo unlocks after you complete the opening chapters: an adventure trial set in Central Town.

In this trial players can further explore the area, interact with Digimon, and fight enemies in an underground passage to test party builds and battle strategies.

Game Overview and Key Features

Digimon Story: Time Stranger is a role-playing game with monster-taming elements that centers on the bond between humans and Digimon as players unravel the mystery of a world-altering catastrophe.

The title spans both the human world and the Digital World, called Iliad in the game's description, and offers an expansive roster of creatures.

The game features strategic turn-based combat, deep customization, and more than 450 Digimon to collect and raise.

Digimon Story: Time Stranger is scheduled to arrive on both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 on July 10, 2026.
