Description

Demonschool, the highly anticipated tactical RPG from Necrosoft Games and publisher Ysbryd Games, will now arrive on Nintendo Switch and other platforms on November 19, 2025, instead of its previously announced September 3 release date.

The new launch window is a strategic decision to avoid coinciding with the release of Team Cherry’s Hollow Knight: Silksong, which is set for September 4, 2025.

Heavily inspired by legendary series like Persona, Shin Megami Tensei, and classic Italian cinema, Demonschool has consistently appeared on most-wanted indie release lists since its original reveal.

The title blends tactical turn-based combat with a supernatural narrative, and its unique pixel art style has continued to generate buzz within the gaming community. Announcing the delay in an official press statement, Brian Kwek of Ysbryd Games expressed that the decision weighed heavily on the team.

He emphasized, “After considerable reflection, we’ve opted to adjust the release schedule.

With our experience as an indie publisher spanning over a decade, we can attest that 2025 is shaping up to be an intensely competitive year for game launches.

Facing such challenging market conditions, it would be unwise to go head-to-head with Hollow Knight: Silksong—especially after learning of its September release just days ago.” Timing is everything in the crowded Nintendo Switch and eShop marketplaces.

Kwek clarified that the primary goal is to ensure Demonschool receives the visibility it needs for a meaningful debut and discussion among players.

“If the September period is destined to be dominated by Silksong, then it makes sense for Demonschool to shift to a later date where it can truly shine,” Kwek continued.

The tactical RPG has already faced multiple delays since its initial announcement, yet the team remains committed to delivering a standout experience. In a silver lining for fans, Ysbryd Games also confirmed that the rescheduled timeline will give Necrosoft Games the opportunity to enhance Demonschool further, including additional endings and new minigames that were originally slated as post-launch updates.

This upgrade will now be included at launch for both Nintendo Switch and other supported platforms, optimizing the game’s content offering. Demonschool’s delay is part of a wider trend, as other indie titles such as CloverPit and Aeterna Lucis (the sequel to Aeterna Noctis) have also postponed their releases in response to Hollow Knight: Silksong’s confirmed September launch date.

With September’s calendar brimming with headline-grabbing releases, moving to November may well give Demonschool the breathing room it deserves to capture critical and player attention. Despite the shift, anticipation for Demonschool remains strong, with its stylish blend of tactics, storytelling, and supernatural intrigue continuing to stand out in the Nintendo Switch lineup ahead of its November 19, 2025 release.
