Demonschool Nintendo Switch 2: New Version and Puzzle-Focused DLC Arriving in 2026

Ysbryd Games and Necrosoft Games have revealed a Nintendo Switch 2 version of Demonschool alongside a new puzzle-focused DLC, both scheduled for release in 2026.

Demonschool originally launched on the Nintendo Switch, and this next-gen release promises technical and feature upgrades for the upcoming Switch hardware while carrying over the tactical puzzle-combat the game is known for.

According to the developers, the Nintendo Switch 2 edition will offer an improved frame rate and enhanced graphical elements compared with the original Switch build, and it will add mouse support on the new hardware.

A trailer accompanying the announcement showcases the updated visuals and teases the DLC content.

DLC details: Developers described the expansion as a concentrated puzzle experience built around "puzzle battles." In their words, these encounters require players to clear every enemy on a board in a single turn using only the characters provided; each puzzle is intentionally crafted to have one precise solution.

The DLC introduces new items that can charge special attacks and grants three unlockable abilities that are usable in the main game after being learned.

The expansion also includes a short side-story with new music that culminates in a new boss encounter.

Ysbryd and Necrosoft estimate the DLC will take most players between 3–5 hours to complete without a guide; the team’s creative director reported taking about six hours during development.

Key details at a glance:

- Platforms: Nintendo Switch 2 (new version); original Nintendo Switch remains the base release.

- Technical upgrades: improved frame rate, additional graphical elements, mouse support on Switch 2.

- DLC focus: puzzle battles with one-turn solutions, new charge items, three unlockable abilities, new side-story and boss, new music.

- Playtime estimate: approximately 3–5 hours without a guide; internal testing cited ~6 hours.

- Release window: planned for 2026.

This announcement follows a recent update to Demonschool that added New Game+ and other features; full patch notes were published with that update.
