Deck of Haunts Nintendo Switch 2 Release Date Confirmed: 8 October 2026
Mantis Games and publisher Dangen Entertainment have confirmed that the deckbuilding roguelike Deck of Haunts will launch digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 worldwide on 8 October 2026.
The console release follows the game's initial PC launch last year and brings the haunted-house strategy experience to Nintendo's current and next-generation hybrid hardware.
Deck of Haunts casts players as a malevolent haunted mansion intent on capturing and breaking the minds of unwary explorers.
During daytime phases players design and expand their mansion—placing rooms, traps and special tiles to protect the Heart room and shape intruder paths.
At night, the core loop shifts to an active deckbuilding combat system: players use cards to summon spirits, alter hallways, trigger scares and directly target visitors, building tension until victims lose their sanity and their essence can be harvested to further empower the manor.
Mantis Games lead Philippe Mesotten described the console edition as a substantial evolution from the studio's original PC release.
He said the team spent more than a year reworking systems and adding content based on player feedback, introducing new ways to design mansions, additional creatures and decks, new missions and whole new game modes so console players can start with that expanded content from day one.
Key features outlined by the publisher include:
- Craft Your Deck of Haunts: Unlock and collect cards to expand your deck with abilities such as phantoms, shifting walls and other haunt effects to scare or kill intruders.
- Build Your Mansion: Place rooms and special tiles to protect your Heart room and construct mazelike layouts filled with traps and unique room powers.
- Sow Tension and Fear: Use haunt cards and room effects to raise visitors' fear and drive them to madness, then harvest their essence to strengthen the manor.
- Harvest Essence: Invest collected essence to unlock rooms, expand powers and attract more challenging targets.
- Endless Mode: An unlockable mode offering an infinite test of a player's haunting strategy after meeting specific in-game conditions.
The Nintendo eShop release on 8 October 2026 will make Deck of Haunts available to both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 owners worldwide.
