Putty World for Nintendo Switch 2 brings System 3's classic Putty series into a single, reimagined package.

The developer has confirmed that Putty World will launch digitally on the Nintendo eShop worldwide in Q2 2027.

The title unites elements of Putty, Super Putty and Putty Squad into a connected experience built specifically for the hardware capabilities of Nintendo's next-generation handheld-home console.

System 3 frames Putty World as an ambitious reimagining rather than a straight port.

The project will present 75 new or extensively updated levels and introduces more than 45 new enemies, expanding behaviors, reactions and encounter variety.

Players can also expect dedicated boss battles and end-of-level bosses tailored to the updated designs.

The game aims to recreate and update levels as they are unlocked, drawing inspiration across the original Putty catalogue.

The studio has placed emphasis on character animation and personality.

Putty receives over 50 facial expression combinations to react dynamically to in-game events, a design choice intended to enhance the character's responsiveness and humour compared with the series' original releases.

System 3 founder and CEO Mark Cale described the project's guiding idea as a creative exercise: the development team asked how the Putty games might have evolved if mid-1990s designers had access to modern technology.

Cale explained the studio is revisiting the original creative vision without the technical limits of older hardware, combining the character and humour of the originals with improved fluidity, responsiveness and visual detail that the Nintendo Switch 2 can deliver.

Putty World is positioned as both a nostalgic compilation and a renewed entry for contemporary hardware, aiming to appeal to long-time fans and newcomers exploring the franchise on Nintendo Switch 2.

The confirmed digital release window of Q2 2027 on the Nintendo eShop gives publishers and retailers a clear timeline for promotions and coverage.
