CTHULOOT Release Date Announced: Co-op Arcade Adventure Arrives on Nintendo Switch in May 2025

CTHULOOT, the latest co-op arcade experience from renowned indie developers Headbang Club and Pixelnest Studio, is officially heading to the Nintendo Switch.

The developers announced that the game's release is set for May 15, 2025, marking a significant addition to the platform's diverse eShop lineup. Developed collaboratively by Headbang Club, known for their creative approach to multiplayer titles, and Pixelnest Studio, CTHULOOT draws inspiration from Lovecraftian mythology and classic arcade design.

The game allows up to four players to form a squad of looters, embarking on intense quests to recover lost relics scattered across mysterious realms.

These relics, remnants of the Great Old Ones' era, provide both challenges and rewards as players navigate treacherous landscapes filled with traps and hidden dangers. In CTHULOOT, teamwork is essential.

Players are encouraged to assemble a "gang of semi-competent looters" to maximize their chances of success.

Each session promises a blend of action and strategy, requiring players to deftly avoid awakening ancient powers as they collect treasures.

The quest is enriched by the presence of Lord Morgaz’han, a mysterious figure seeking the power to reclaim his place among the mythic Old Ones.

By recovering supernatural artifacts—including an array of mystical watches—players unlock new abilities, adding layers of depth and replayability to each run. Speaking through a press statement, the developers highlighted the importance of cooperation and quick reflexes: "Players will need to work together to outsmart the many dangers that lurk in each level; every piece of loot collected, and every mistake made, impacts the group's outcome," they said.

CTHULOOT also features a skill progression system, allowing looters to tailor their abilities and bring unique strategies to each playthrough. Launching digitally for $14.99, CTHULOOT will be exclusively available via the Nintendo eShop.

A new release date trailer was also shared today, giving fans a first glimpse at the fast-paced action and distinctive art style that the title promises.

The trailer is now live, providing an overview of gameplay mechanics and introducing players to its vibrant, otherworldly realms. With its official release slated for May 15, 2025, CTHULOOT is positioned to be a dynamic addition to the growing library of Nintendo Switch co-op games.
