Background and development

Cotton Reboot! was developed by Japanese studio Rocket-Engine and is based on the X68000 port of the 1991 arcade title Cotton: Fantastic Night Dreams.

The reboot first arrived in 2021 on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam.

The franchise centers on young witch Cotton and her fairy companion Silk as they battle enemies and collect Willow Candy, a recurring series motif.

Clear River Games confirmed that both games will be sold in digital storefronts and as physical editions.

Cotton Reboot! on October 22 will offer players a choice between new high-definition visuals and a “pixel-perfect” presentation, and will include both the original X68000 soundtrack and a new remixed score.
