The publisher also confirmed that save data created in the demo will transfer to the retail release, allowing players to continue their progress once the full game is available.
Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse is a new entry in the long-running Castlevania franchise set in a reimagined medieval Paris in 1499.
The story follows Trevor Belmont, the vampire hunter famed for defeating Dracula, and his daughter Rose Belmont as they confront monstrous invasions spilling from a looming castle.
Rose becomes central to the plot as she uncovers a dark conspiracy beneath the city while wielding the legendary whip known as the Vampire Killer.
Konami’s announcement highlights the game’s updated combat and exploration systems.
The publisher described a refined whip mechanic that emphasizes mobility and fast-paced encounters, inviting players to use the whip both for traversal and aggressive combat maneuvers.
The title also introduces an Arcana system: defeated bosses are sealed into Rose’s tarot cards and converted into Arcana that grant spells and unique special actions.
Players will face a mix of classic and new bosses.
Konami lists traditional series antagonists such as Death, Medusa and Carmilla alongside newly interpreted foes, including a boss inspired by Joan of Arc.
Once defeated, these bosses are captured as Arcana to expand Rose’s capabilities.
Customization is a core part of Belmont’s Curse.
Konami says Rose can equip weapons across seven distinct categories and use Relics that produce powerful offensive and defensive effects.
The combination of weapons and Relics discovered through exploration lets players tailor their combat style.
Visually, the game aims to balance Castlevania’s iconic Gothic aesthetic with refreshed, detailed stages and new level designs that evoke classic series elements while presenting modernized visuals.
The demo will be available via the Nintendo eShop on October 1, with the full game launching on Nintendo Switch on October 15.
Players interested in sampling the title ahead of release can download the demo from the eShop and carry their progress into the full game when it ships.
