Cassette Beasts 2002 Confirmed for Nintendo Switch 2 — Sequel Expands Fusion RPG to New Hardware

Raw Fury and Bytten Studio have officially announced Cassette Beasts 2002 for Nintendo Switch 2, marking a direct follow-up to the original Cassette Beasts, which released on Nintendo Switch in 2023 after an earlier PC early access period in 2022.

The announcement confirms the project is in development for Nintendo's next home console, with a release date to be revealed at a later time.

In a statement accompanying the reveal, the publisher said the sequel will significantly expand the franchise's signature creature-fusion mechanics.

According to Raw Fury, players will be able to fuse with more than 240 distinct beasts, and combining any two of those creatures will create in excess of 50,000 unique fusion permutations — all of which are presented with full animation.

The original Cassette Beasts, developed by Bytten Studio and published by Raw Fury, launched in Steam Early Access in 2022 before a full release that included the Nintendo Switch in 2023.

That entry established the series' open-world RPG framework, turn-based combat, and a cassette-tape aesthetic that underpins the creature-collection and fusion systems.

Raw Fury and Bytten Studio released an announcement trailer alongside the reveal of Cassette Beasts 2002.

The trailer provides the first look at the sequel's visual direction and fusion animations; further gameplay details and the official release window have not yet been disclosed.

Nintendo Direct broadcasts and publisher updates are common venues for Switch-family announcements, so future updates may appear through those channels or on the teams' official social and press channels.

Players interested in the series can try the original Cassette Beasts on the Nintendo eShop or via PC storefronts where the game is available.

Raw Fury continues to position the franchise as an indie, open-world RPG with an emphasis on creature fusion and animated monster designs, and Bytten Studio remains credited as the developer on the project announcement.

As more information becomes available — including platform-specific features for Nintendo Switch 2, a release date, and detailed gameplay footage — Raw Fury and Bytten Studio will be the authoritative sources for confirmed updates.

For now, Cassette Beasts 2002 is confirmed in development for Nintendo Switch 2 with the notable fusion and animation milestones highlighted by the publisher.
