Capcom closed FY2026 with the strongest consolidated sales and operating profit in its history, according to the publisher’s end-of-year financial report.

The results underscore continued momentum for Capcom’s major franchises — notably Resident Evil Requiem, Devil May Cry 5 and Street Fighter 6 — and reflect expanded platform availability, including recent activity tied to Nintendo hardware.

Key financial milestones

Capcom’s report states the company has recorded 13 consecutive years of operating profit growth, with 11 of those years showing consecutive increases of more than 10%.

The publisher also confirmed FY2026 delivered its highest consolidated sales and operating profit to date.

For FY2027 Capcom has set a target of 8% operating profit growth, indicating continued ambition for top-line expansion while moderating the growth rate compared with previous double-digit years.

Sales performance and franchise highlights

Capcom reported that Resident Evil Requiem sold 6.91 million units; director Koshi Nakanishi had previously celebrated the title reaching 7 million in a separate post.

The company identified Resident Evil and Devil May Cry 5 as primary contributors to the year’s performance, and noted that Street Fighter 6 exceeded 2 million units sold, helped in part by its release on the Switch 2 hardware.

Looking ahead: releases and brand strategy

In its investor materials Capcom flagged several upcoming and ongoing initiatives.

The company listed Onimusha: Way of the Sword among titles in development, reaffirmed plans around the Street Fighter movie (scheduled for release in October according to the report), and highlighted the continuation of the Devil May Cry anime on Netflix.

Capcom also emphasized efforts to expand and nurture other long-running IPs, calling out Mega Man, Devil May Cry, Okami, Ace Attorney, Dead Rising and Dragon’s Dogma.

Capcom has stated Mega Man: Dual Override is slated for 2027 and developer Clovers is working on a direct sequel to Okami.

What this means for Nintendo platforms

Street Fighter 6’s performance on the Switch 2 demonstrates the franchise’s continued cross-platform appeal and underscores the commercial importance of Nintendo hardware for major third-party releases.

Capcom’s broad portfolio and forward slate of releases suggest the company will remain a significant partner for platforms like the Nintendo Switch family and digital storefronts such as the eShop.

Capcom’s FY2026 results are a clear sign of sustained commercial strength across several flagship franchises.

The company’s FY2027 targets and stated focus on expanding legacy IP will be watched closely by investors, platform holders and fans alike as Capcom seeks to maintain its multi-year growth streak.
