Now, as players mark the game's six-month anniversary, Nintendo is commemorating the occasion with the introduction of Book 3 and a suite of themed content throughout the season.
Book 3: The Axe's Heir Now Playable
The highlight of the latest update is the addition of Book 3, titled "The Axe's Heir." The story unfolds in the labyrinthine kingdom of Notia, where the journey continues with the arrival of Rusty—a mysterious red-haired youth revealed to be the descendant of one of Notia's twelve fallen royal families.
To embark on Rusty's new adventure, players must have previously completed Books 1 and 2.
Chapters 1 and 2 of Book 3 are now available in both the Light and Shadow branches, and can be unlocked by collecting Story Fragments, which are awarded as battle rewards during gameplay.
Unlock Rusty: Axe's Heir and Other Notable Characters
Alongside the narrative expansion, players now have the opportunity to unlock Rusty: Axe's Heir.
Rusty, a skilled mercenary and member of Notia's Monster Watch, can be recruited by gathering special Souls from Book 3 battles.
The update further expands the available roster, with notable character Souls—including Veronica: Reticent One and Ike: Radiant Merc—appearing in gold chests at an increased rate as part of the ongoing in-game event.
By collecting these Souls, players can recruit these fan-favorite heroes to strengthen their teams.
Seasonal Update: The Hidden Mask Season Pass and Cherry Blossom Theme
Coinciding with the launch of Book 3, Nintendo has introduced the "Hidden Mask Season Pass." Available from March 26 at 11:00 p.m.
PT through April 27 at 10:59 p.m.
PT, the pass features Yunaka: Hidden Mask as a major reward.
By accumulating 12 Souls during the campaign period, players can add Yunaka to their ranks.
In addition, the seasonal update brings a fresh visual overhaul, with cherry blossoms adorning the game's home screen and themed weapon rewards—up to eight cherry-blossom-inspired ★4 and ★6 arms—available through season challenges.
Daily Platinum Treasures and Log-In Bonuses
