Developed by Intelligent Systems and published by Nintendo, the Fire Emblem franchise has a long history on Nintendo platforms, and this new Expansion Pass expands content for players who already own the full game.
Nintendo released a video preview offering a first look at the paid Expansion Pass for Fortune's Weave.
The Expansion Pass delivers additional content across three distinct waves.
Nintendo confirmed Wave 1 is available now, Wave 2 is scheduled for winter 2026, and Wave 3 is planned for 2027.
Key details of the Expansion Pass
- Wave 1 (Out now): Players can obtain prototype weapons for the four heroes, designed after Heroes' Relics from Fire Emblem: Three Houses.
This initial wave is available immediately following the Expansion Pass announcement.
- Wave 2 (Winter 2026): The second content wave will add the ability to enlist four powerful gods named Mars, Aurora, Smyrnos, and Jurah in battle, and will introduce new outfit options for characters.
- Wave 3 (2027): The third wave will bring new stories, additional allies, new class types, and further content enhancements.
In clear terms from Nintendo's release, the Expansion Pass is a paid add-on that requires the full version of Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave to use.
The Expansion Pass is sold separately on the Nintendo eShop, and individual waves cannot be purchased separately.
Nintendo also encouraged players to add the Expansion Pass to their wish lists or visit the eShop page for more details about the base game and the DLC.
The Expansion Pass continues Intelligent Systems' tradition of post-launch content for Fire Emblem titles, following historical examples such as DLC and expansion content for previous series entries.
For players on Nintendo Switch 2, the new waves provide incremental additions to gameplay, aesthetic options, and narrative material.
For purchase and further information, Nintendo directs players to the game's eShop listing.
The publisher reiterated that the full game is required to access the DLC and that the Expansion Pass bundles all three waves into a single purchase option.
