Koei Tecmo and Gust’s Blue Reflection Quartet brings the entire Blue Reflection franchise together in one release, launching July 30 for Nintendo Switch and the publisher-listed Switch hardware.
The compilation packages two console titles, the franchise anime, and the original mobile story into a single edition, offering updated visuals, quality-of-life improvements, and new connective content overseen by series character designer Mel Kishida.
The publisher described Blue Reflection Quartet as a single collection that “combines all four entries in the series into a single package,” uniting the console games Blue Reflection and Blue Reflection: Second Light, the anime Blue Reflection Ray, and the mobile original Blue Reflection Sun.
The series is known for depicting the emotional bonds of female students across games and animation, with Kishida providing series supervision and character design.

- Blue Reflection: The original console entry follows an injured former ballerina who becomes a magical Reflector, forging bonds with others while combating a looming supernatural threat.
For the Quartet release, textures have been upgraded to higher-resolution versions, new visual effects such as enhanced water rendering were added, and basic modern conveniences like autosave are included to improve accessibility.
- Blue Reflection Ray: The anime centers on magical Reflectors whose conflicting beliefs and emotions put them at odds.
The Quartet presents a condensed, interactive retelling with major characters rendered in 3D.
New short stories plus a prologue and epilogue have been added to better connect the anime’s narrative to the games in the compilation.
- Blue Reflection Sun: Originally a mobile entry about students clinging to hope in a dying world, Sun’s narrative has been remade for consoles using Second Light’s systems.
The remaster adds 24 new character events and integrates the original prologue and epilogue to strengthen series continuity.
- Blue Reflection: Second Light: First released in October 2021, Second Light’s Quartet version gains eight additional playable characters drawn from RAY and SUN, expanded Photo Mode options, and gameplay quality-of-life updates including increased battle speed, faster exploration movement, and event fast-forwarding.

Blue Reflection Quartet also includes an in-game Reference database with chronological flowcharts and relationship charts intended to help both newcomers and returning players navigate the series’ storylines, plus a gallery showcasing official Mel Kishida artwork.
